Jun V2

Hello! My name is Jun. My Mom says my name means "truth". She is from Vietnam and says the flowers there are the prettiest in the world. We live with my aunt and uncle in Columbus, Ohio because my Mom is going to school to become a doctor some day. My aunt and uncle helped us come to this country 3 years ago. They said America is a very special place and that we would have a chance to have a house of our own someday.

I am 5 1/2 years old and I go to school now, just like my Mom! I like arts and crafts time the best because I like to make pretty things to bring home to my family. My best friend is Aaron and we like to pretend that we are scientists. We do a lot of experiments to help save the world. At night, my Mom reads stories to me and my goldfishErnie. Ernie likes me to clean his bowl and I try to remember to feed him. Goldfish need friends too! I love to eadt chocolate chip cookies, but I can't give any to Ernie because fish are not allowed to eat cookies.
When I grow up, I would like to have a pet store where I would treat all of the pets really nice and try to find them nice homes like mine.
The artwork found on Jun's shirt was drawn by Dana, age 12, and is appropriately named "Helping Children and their Families Around the World"

Stephane V2

Let's be friends! My name is Stephane. It means "crowned in victory". My Mom and Dad were born in Haiti and we have lived in Atlanta, Georgia for four years. My Dad is going to school to learn computers and my Mom works in a nursery school near our house. It's not always easy to make friends, but this year I have met some nice kids in my class. We are planning a sleepover at my house soon. I'm going to let my younger brother come to my party too.
We saved our money for a special vacation and last year we visited my grandparents in Haiti. They were so happy to see us, especially me and my brother. They live in the country and grow their own vegetables because they do not eat any animal meat. My Mom sys we are vegetariansand don't eat animals because we believe they are very special creatures.
I am 7 1/2 years old and like to look at the stars with a telescope that belongs to this nice man next door. I want to be an astronaut when I grow up and then I can take all the animals to another planet with me so they can always be safe.
The artwork found on Stephane's outfit was drawn by Todd and Adam, age 12, and is appropriately named "Bumper to Bumper"

Stella V2

Let's be friends! My name is Stella and it means "star" in Italian. My Mom is Italian and my Dad is Greek and I have a stepsister who is 15. Today is my birthday and I am 4 years old! I am going to have strawberry ice cream and chocolate cake and I will make a wish to have my very own puppy someday! Mom and Dad said I could have one if I promised to walk him and clean up after him.
We live upstairs in a tall, yellow house in Chicago, Illinois on a street with a lot of big trees. My grandparents live downstairs. I don't see my Mom and Dad very much during the week because they work hard so our family can have nice things. But on Saturdays, my Dad takes me to the park with my little brother Sam, and on Sundays I cook dinner with my Mom. I love to cook and make up my own recipes. When I grow up, I'm going to write a book about cooking and I'm going to teach other little girls how to cook too.
The artwork found on Stella's outfit was drawn by Kelly, age 7, and is appropriately named "Love is all Around"

Hello! My name is Paz and my mother says it means "peace." I am 8 years old and live in Seattle, Washington. My parents are from Columbia in South America and they came here when I was a baby.
My Dad works with computers and is very smart. He teaches me how to use the Internet to learn new things. I like to play video games and also to play soccer with my friends. Sometimes I don't get picked for soccer teams because I wear glasses. It makes me sad, but Mom says my glasses give me Super Vision and that I am very lucky to have them.

Patrick V1

Hi, my name is Patrick and my teacher told me it means "noble man." I am 10 years old and many, many years ago my relatives came to this country from Germany. Now I live on a farm in West Virginia with my Grandmother and I have a dog named Crockett. I love going to school and working on our farm. I help out on the farm by feeding the cows and gathering the eggs and, in the summer, I have to help bale the hay for the cows to eat when it gets cold. We live in a big white farm house with a red roof.
When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian and visit big cities.
