Kory Murphy emailed me this today. I've never seen a cake like this and I can imagine the time and work that went into this masterpiece!!

"I am a cake designer/decorator and my mother collects head vases. I just went to the International Cake Convention and wanted to share the cake I make and took with me. I was inspired to make it with one of my mothers head vases. Hope you enjoy. Here is the description:

The inspiration for this cake came from my mother who collects and owns over 300 Lady Head vases. The 10” and 6” round cake layers are covered with fondant. The cake is topped with a Lady Head vase sculpted out of fondant. Her hat is filled with and assortment of gumpaste flowers, just like they came from the florist back in the 50’s. All three layers are tied together with a fondant drape dusted with luster dust." Kory Murphy
