Molly's Collection!

Molly emailed me these LOVELY pictures of her collections. Isn't it fun seeing how others display their collections of ladies?!

Note From Molly:

Hi Chrissy, Here is a picture of how I have displayed my Lady Head Vases. I bought an old cabinet at Auction, cleaned it up, put lights and mirrors in it and I think it makes a wonderful space for my ladies. In the bottom are some of my Cameo Girls. I have other cases and places for the rest of my collections. My son goes around and counts when he comes home to visit and likes to tease me about them. I do love them all. Molly

Note From Molly:

Chrissy, Here is one of the other cases. This case was given to me by some people I use to work for at a gift shop. I knew right away what I was going to do with it! The shelf I bought at Service Merchandise in Louiville Ky, in the early 80's. Now I see others using some like this one to display theirs too. I used to have my head vases on it but thought they were getting to heavy and it could not safely support them. I have to search for my other pictures. Molly

About Molly's Collection:

Chrissy, I love your site. Thank you for having it! My first head vase belonged to my grandmother. My sister was going through some things in the attic and I saw her and said, "Oh where did you get her" She said she was Granny's, do you want her. "YES" "I love them" I searched for them for years and no one seem to have them. Then when I lost my younger brother I went to a small flower shop in MS to get some flowers for his grave and all along the top shelves were lady head vases. I admired them but was in no shape to even ask about them. Oh how I wished I had. I found my second in a little junk shop in Bumpus Mills TN while visiting relatives. She was way back in a dirty corner, very dirty herself. I paid $6.00 for her and thought I had struck gold. My mother gave me two small ones she had for many years and the same sister sent me another lovely one for my birthday one year. So I had six for may years, then I found one here in a gift shop about 10 years ago. She was $38. and so pre!tty. I put her with her sisters! One of my very dear friends I worked with for many years, that has passed away gave me the one she had bought in a gift shop when they first came out for .75 cents, for my birthday one year! I received many as gifts from people that knew how I love them. I now have 44 and do not look to ever find any more that I can afford. I cherish the ones I have. I also collect and love the New Cameo Girls. They are wonderful and should last a long time the way they are made. So as you can see my collection is small compared to some but I do understand the addiction. They are all so beautiful!!

Sincerely, Molly Happy 2006 to everyone! PS. I forgot to add that I am a Purpleholic too! I love purple and all shades of it and I love the verse "When I Am Old I Will Wear Purple" I have been asked to join the Red Hat Society here and hope to someday. They are neat. They are just a bunch of woman that throw care to the wind and have a good time having tea and traveling together. I walked in on one of their tea parties by accident and they all had on funny hats like little girls and were laughing and having fun! I have collected many purple things too! Take Care, Molly

PPS I forgot to tell you that I hooked the two lighted corner cabinets up to my wall switch. So when you enter the room and flip the switch it turns my cases on which I love to see!
