02/23/00 Wednesday Midwest PHB's Retired!!!! Can you believe it?! Midwest has already discontinued the 10 new Pooh boxes that just came out in January of 2000 - Goodbye Pooh and Friends, things must not have worked out with the renewal of the pooh lisence. I don't have any details, but have been given the word that they are GONE. Also the Disney Snow White and the Peter Pan collections are both officially retired.

02/03/00 Wednesday Midwest PHB's Catalog price list correction: In some of the price sheets that got sent with the catalogs, the 37449-8 Santa and Harley Davidson was listed for $15.00 - that price is wrong. It should be $30.00 as listed on the website in the Harley section. Might be a few more in error, if in doubt - the prices on the website are correct.

02/02/00 Wednesday Halcyon Days Enamels Finally! I have received my invoices for the boxes due to arrive any day now and yes, the 1999 and the 2000 Year Boxes are in this shipment!! Other goodies, the Christmas 1999 Santa & Parachute, Children of the World, VALENTINES 2000 box!! Cinderella boxes, International Millennium Box, World 2000. There is still time to order the Halcyon Days boxes on the retired list. Last day to order is Feb. 20th - hurry! I also updated the "News section" on the Halcyon page, stop by and see the new Winnie the Pooh sculpted box.

02/02/00 Wednesday Night Fab Fakes 2000 Collection! - I just got started posting the preview pictures of whats coming at the end of the month!! There are SO MANY new Fab Fakes coming that I had to start a whole new page. I have a long way to go, getting them all listed, but take a peek. Check out the Passport Box - looks very familiar if you've seen the real Limoges Box passport. I will be receiving another big shipment of the older style Fab Fakes next week, then at the end of the month (or so I'm told) these new ones will begin to arrive.

02/02/00 Wednesday Midwest PHB's! More NEW Midwest PHB's arrived tonight!!! Yeah!!! I'm busy updating with "in stocks" now - here's a little of what came in: the other 5 new pooh boxes, Valentines Double Heart Set, Krackle Candy Bar, Sugar Daddy, Betty Boop in Poodle skirt, and Betty Boop Biker. The flamingo!!! Harley Santa, soccer ball, baseball, and basketball. Restock of things like Coffee, Jiff, birds and fruits. Must be a lot of coffee drinkers, we sure go through the Folgers here! The Coffee is in!

We received in more Midwest Catalogs - 31 pages of colorful photos of the Collection 2000! All of you that sent checks for the catalog, we're mailing them out to you on Tuesday. We're out again, more coming soon and requests with checks will be processed in the order received for the next batch of catalogs.

01/30/00 Sunday Halcyon Days Enamels Updated the Halcyon Days news page with information of the announcement of the First in new series - Winnie the Pooh Bonbonniere!!!! New picture of the "Year of The Dragon" box, and the "2000 Kisses for the Millennium" - so many new boxes from Halcyon this year - and don't forget, Feb. 20th, 2000 is the last day to order from the list of 1999 retired boxes, check out the list.

01/25/00 Tuesday Limoges Boxes New Birthday Cake (sliced) in the Coffee & Tea section. (Also in the Special Occasion section). A trio of the most precious siamese kitties - See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil - all 3 in the Cats section. A piano like no other! In the Musical Instruments section we just posted a pastel colors upright with a Dalmation at the keyboard and another puppy on top. Only have one! Anybody getting married in 2000? We have a new "Married in 2000" wedding cake Limogesbox, the best looking wedding cake I've seen yet, picture coming soon.

01/25/00 Midwest PHB's! The Wizard of OZ Series PHB's is officially retired. We got in our last shipment of these today. The only one completely sold out so far is the Toto Surprise, the box with all the characters on top. All the others are available.

Sunday 01/09/00BOXES, BOXES, and MORE BOXES!!! I should be committed! I have just returned from January buying adventure and I could NOT resist any box that I saw! I ordered them ALL!!! Every category has new boxes. My favorites were the Madame Alexander line, tons of new ones will be in on this new line. Saw all of the Midwest boxes that I had previously ordered before the trip - they are wonderful!! The Fab Fakes line has doubled, not sure if they will be discontinuing most the old ones to make way for the new, but most likely a lot of the ones I have now will not be back once they sell out. We will also be discontinuing some styles here to make way for the new ones. Will try to identify those that will be last chance to purchase here. Lots and lots of new Limoges boxes, new Rochard catalog coming along soon, new head vase Limoges boxes, and many many others styles too!!

Rochard Teddy Book-ends 1900/2000 - also in the millennium section! Will post more soon as the mad shopping rush dies down. The post office in Austin is unbearable - when I arrived today they were on number 42 and I had number 10 - ah!!!!!!!!!

12/11/99 Saturday Morning Midwest PHB's - We have no bananas! Midwest issued a Market Withdrawal Notice to us on the Chiquita Banana. The letter was actually very amusing - particularly item #2 said to Contact customers that have purchased this box and ask them to return it. hahahaha! OK now - all of you return those bananas to me at once! Apparently this box was released for shipment prior to receiving final licensor approval. All of my current orders with Midwest for this box have been cancelled. The note goes on telling me to remove the box from sale - then at the end of the note they say "We anticipate the re-release of the fully approved item within the next 30 days" - LOL - so after you return me your bananas I will send them back to you. I hope they will truely re-release this box and I can get some more in - I have only ever received a very small order and they all were sold quickly. I'm sure if you purchased one of these bananas you are packing it up now and sending it back to me. LOL!

11/24/99 Wednesday Midwest PHB's - We've been finding HUGE boxes of Midwest boxes at the door EVERY day this week. Some in stock boxes might not yet be noted on the website so if you're looking for something in particular, let us know..... the Lucy II box and the Campbells Kids finally arrived - these are new boxes announced in January and this is our FIRST shipment of them. The Lone Ranger arrived too!

11/23/99 Tuesday More Hinged Boxes The Boyds Bears Retirement List is out - I updated our Boyds Bear Hinged boxes page with the boxes that are on the Dec. 1999 retirement list. The entire Beatrice Collection is on the retirement list and many of the LeBearmoge boxes. The new Boyds Catalog shows 6 news designs in the LeBearmoge collection, but I don't see any in the Beatrice collection. New pictures are posted. My favorite is the 392024 "Grace and Rita...Born to Shop"!

Halcyon Days Enamels Most of the Halcyon Days Limited Edition Millennium boxes are now sold out - gone for good. The Halcyon Days 1999 Retirement List is out now and there is a big list of retirees. This year there is a MAJOR change to the retirement procedure - once the box is retired, the transfers for the box will be destroyed and so the box will not be made again. This will greatly add to the collectibility of these boxes! I'll soon post the retirement list in the Halcyon section for the designs being retired on the 31st of March 2000. Orders will be accepted for these boxes up until February 23rd, after that these boxes will be unavailable for new order. The list is huge! If you've had your eye on a particular Halcyon Box, you might want to inquire about it now.

11/20/99 Saturday Limoges Boxes A couple new Chamart Boxes - find in the View By Importer, choose Chamart. A Yellow gift box with roses inside, and another piece to the Tobacco Leaf pattern, a curled up sleeping kitty.

Midwest PHB's - Some of the new Harley Bikes are in, and the newest Peter Rabbit with Radish has at last arrived! Two of the Coca-cola display shelves are in, I'm told these are no longer available so this is the only 2 I will have.

11/19/99 Friday Limoges Boxes T.G.I.F.!!! New heart with removeable heart in the Hearts section. The little heart inside has a hole in it so you can put a chain through it and WEAR your Limoges heart!

11/17/99 Wednesday Midwest PHB's - Big Delivery Day! The boxes were stacked up 6 feet high! If you are working on your Christmas shopping, try to get in your orders early, it's getting VERY busy here!

Fab Fakes - Two HUGE boxes of Fab Fakes arrived today. The "Letter" boxes are finally back in stock, The 283-63 camera, Corn, Ice cream cart, and many others!! This is probably our last big shipment of these boxes until after Christmas so get your orders in before they are gone.

Got in a couple other new ones - The Secret of Staying Young - "is to drink moderately, exercise regularly and lie about your age" - love it! And "For My Sister". The Halcyon Days Boxes make for fabulous gift-giving! Got restock of the "1999 and counting" and the "Millennium Bug Bytes".

Limoges Boxes Added a new Unicorn - a Chamart box, gorgeous, in the Animals section, or "View By Importer" and choose Chamart. Another new Chamart box, the Siamese Cat - Speak No Evil - find ind Cats or Chamart section. The See No and Hear No can also be ordered. What a great threesome!

Midwest Of Cannon Falls Checked on my backorders with Midwest today and found out that they've shipped me lots of boxes this week - yipee!!! I should have packages rolling in starting next week, EVERY DAY!

11/05/99 Friday Limoges Boxes T.G.I.F.! Where did the week go?! Added another beautiful Golden Retriever in the Dog section - this one is an Artoria Box. Added 2 more pieces to the Chamart Tobacco Leaf Collection, love those boxes! You can find them in the View By Importer under Chamart - a Rabbit and a Toad! Added a couple new violet/gold Limoges in the Gift Box section.

Fab Fakes - Got in a big shipment tonight, all restock of listed boxes, one new box - a champagne bottle, will get picture up as soon as I unpack the box. 11/01/99 Monday Evening Limoges Boxes Added the cutest mini black dog on a leopard oval box - I think the dog is a schnauzer, cute as can be - in the Dog section! In the Household section, find a beautiful gold trimmed butterfly/grapes Limoges Plate box. Always a sucker for the Millennium boxes - a new Eiffel Tower 2000 in the Millennium section! One more! A new mini butterfly in the Birds and Garden section.

More Hinged Boxes added FIVE new Love & Romance Boxes in the Holiday and Occasion section. These boxes are great - they all have surprises in them too! 10/27/99 Wednesday Evening Midwest PHB's - The good news first! 12 cans of Folgers arrived today!!! For all your pre-orders, expect to have your coffee delivered next week. We will probably sell out of these first 12 on the pre-orders but more will come soon, so order away. Also, the Christmas shopping rush has definately hit! Please plan ahead as much as you can and order the boxes now that you will need for the holidays, we're working like mad dogs and I expect it will only get crazier.

Hinged Box Heaven Directory Other news - we've raised our minimum shipping fee. Please read our Shipping or Small Print information off the main Hinged Box Directory page. In the past we were shipping smaller value orders on 3.55 shipping. Due to what we consider a failure of the confirmation slips that we were attaching to these packages, we've gone to using signed insured packing forms for EVERY order. This protects us and you in the event of a lost or damaged shipment. While we haven't lost any packages on the confirmation system, we find it pretty useless when many of the tickets are improperly scanned at the post office and the information comes up as not found at the U.S.P.S. website. And even more useless, the Post Office says they are not responsible and won't look for a package that never makes it's destination, even if we have a computer tape showing the date mailed with the confirmation number matched to the zip code. This week we had one package take 7 days to reach it's destination, and this affixed confirmation number did nothing to help us track it. So by going to the 100.00 minimum signed delivery, the post office will cover a lost or damaged shipment in the event that it really does get lost. We've also added in our terms the necessary steps to take on the RARE occasion that you receive a damaged package and must initiate a claim.

10/25/99 Monday Evening Midwest PHB's - Diamond Engagement Ring box in the Ladies section, Dr. Seuss Horton in the Retrospect section, several old Santa boxes in the Christmas section, Bible in Special Occasion section, and Hug and Kisses Angels in the Romance section. All of these are older retired boxes no longer available through Midwest and just added to the website, only have a couple of each from another shop with old inventory. The Diamond Ring box is a real find, I've never even seen this one in their catalogs so it must have been produced before 1998. Also added new Christmas boxes - sue Dreamer, simple Delights, a collection of 3 colorful holiday greetings boxes.

10/25/99 Monday Evening Lady Head Vase Limoges Boxes If you've been admiring the new Lady Head Vase Limoges, you should visit my Lady Head Vase pages and check the news section. The Limoges Box heads were designed after the old Lady Head Vases that were used as Flower Vases in the 50's and 60's. We've just discovered that FAKE Lady Head Vases are now being produced. They've been spotted at Flea Markets along the East coast and being sold in Ebay with false advertising. You'll find pictures of these reproductions (FAKES!) off my News Section or Show & Tell Section of my Lady Head Vase Website.

10/23/99 Saturday Morning Limoges Boxes I've been busy taking pictures of several new Limoges Boxes! Added a beautiful flowering cactus in the Birds and Garden section. I added 2 new fabulous 2000 Champagne on Ice in colorful buckets. You'll find these in the Millennium section. The Victor Hugo Les Miserables book is new, a beautiful box, in the Fun section. This Fun section has become a catch all for any box I don't have a category for. It definately needs organized and I'll do that in my spare time - which means it will probably never get done! So, if you can't find what you are looking for via the categories, maybe it's in the Fun section!

More cakes! This one takes the cake! It is the most fabulous Pastry Cart, loaded down with 6 pastry plates on the top and 2 delicious looking cakes on the bottom shelf. Find it in the Coffee, Tea, and Goodies category. A new picture postcard style Limoges box of the Eiffel Tower and bridge scene is now in the Art Section, and lastly (for today at least) - are 3 new beautiful Christmas ornaments purse-like on chains with pretty Christmas scene. Each comes with 3 little toys - teddy, computer, and ball.

10/20/99 Wednesday 10:50 PM Limoges Boxes A new Kimono Limoges Box in the Busts and Dress Forms section, it is BEAUTIFUL!! And...one of the coolest dog boxes I've seen yet, I listed a Golden Retriever dog sitting pretty, he is so life-like and I LOVE the clasp! Guess which section he's in - the DOG section.

Midwest PHB's - I put the picture of the Bingo Ball with elephant in the Ladies category, couldn't find any other appropriate category to put it in and too lazy to make a new one. I put up the 32308-3 Limited Edition Christmas Tree with 5 Ornaments - it's REALLY cute, and comes with a black velvet bag like the gold heart box. This tree is 3.5 inches tall.

Fabulous Fakes - By the time I got to this page, I was too pooped to accomplish much. As I discovered that the new 8 hats I had just listed are actually teapots, I started a teapot section and moved these hats and all the other teapots here. (Same page, just new heading). I only got 2 of the pictures done, but have a look, you can see how cute they are, very bright, much like the Mary Englebreit pieces. Lastly, I put the Jesus box picture up in the Religious section. 10/20/99 Wednesday 2:30 pm WOW!!!!! Delivery man came early today and brought TWO HUGE boxes from Midwest of Cannon Falls! I love that word...... HUGE! Some goodies in this shipment, boxes not even listed yet like the old Bingo Ball 14661-3 (very old style), a couple other older boxes; desk teapot, sewing machine teapot. Got in new supply of pumpkin pie, lemon, vacuum, Chinese Takeout (yeah), Gun Rack (finally), COOKBOOKS (only waited 9 months for that one)!!!! Lots more, will update the website tonight. 10/18/99 Monday Just talked with Midwest about reorders and backorders. FIVE big shipments departed Midwest last Wednesday, enroute to us - yea!! Finally should start to see more of the boxes you've been waiting for. Also updated several items with "HotBox" signs as I found out they can no longer be re-ordered. Again, the "HotBox" sign on any of our Midwest Boxes means that I have limited stock here and will NOT be able to get more. (Unless I find through 2nd market.) 10/14/99 P.M. Cakes! I love cakes! Have you noticed just how many cakes we have on this website?! LOL! Added a new Birthday Cake Limoges Box to the Limoges Boxes Page in the "Special Occasion" section. This one has Pink Frosting!

Put up lots of new pictures in the Fab Fakes pages tonight, AND........ found out that MORE Fab Fakes were being sent out to me today, so look for more to arrive next week! My favorites in this recent shipment are the luggage with hat/glasses, the blue Big Wheel Truck, and the Blow Dryer with a comb. The coffee pot is great too!!

10/13/99 P.M. Fab Fakes News I got in TONS of Fab Fakes tonight! Most of the "coming soons" are now in and posted on the page. Got some additional new styles that are posted but the pictures aren't working yet, will get to those tomorrow. Some of the ones that were out are back in, but mostly the shipment was new styles. Also found that many of the older styles are now discontinued, so when you see a "SOLD OUT", this means they will not be coming back in, they are gone gone gone! 10/11/99 P.M. I added SIX new Halloween Limoges Boxes, in the Limoges Box Department - check out the Halloween category, is this new "Female Ghost" hysterical or what! Also added an incredible Times Square 2000 Limoges box - look in the Millennium category on the same above link to Limoges Box Department. This box is awesome, with crystal ball, great detail, and sits on a 2000 easel stand. Added another Millennium Limoges - the Big Apple NYC with mini taxi now comes in a 2000 version.

10/10/99 Midwest of Cannon Falls now has the Cinderella Liscense! We should be hearing of some Cinderella PHB's in the future! I've also been told that while their Pooh liscense has been renewed and new Pooh boxes will be made, the retired Pooh PHB's will NOT be brought back into production.

10/06/99 In the Midwest Of Cannon Falls boxes, I sometimes find older boxes through 2nd market sources. I just posted several of them tonight, and they are marked throughout the categories with this "hotbox" sign. You can do a keyword search on "hotbox" and all the categories that have these marked boxes will be identified. Speaking of searches, our logs show the search engines being used incorrectly. The way the search works on our site is... All the boxes on our website are categorized by their type; example, Limoges, Midwest of Cannon Falls, Fab Fakes, More Hinged Boxes. We have THREE separate search engines set up, one for Limoges Boxes, one for Midwest of Cannon Falls Boxes, and one for the "More Hinged Boxes".

So, if you want to find Babar (a midwest box), and you search on "Babar" from the Limoges Dept., you'll never find Babar. You have to do the search for a Midwest box from any of the pages within the Midwest Dept., likewise when searching within the Limoges pages you'll only bring up Limoges boxes. If you search on keyword "pooh" from the Limoges pages, you'll only be displayed the Pooh Limoges boxes, not the Midwest of Cannon Falls Pooh boxes.

If you want to find ALL the pigs in ALL the box types, do a search on "pig" from all 3 departments. Why don't we have one search for the entire site? We don't want to misrepresent any of the box types on this site. There are Limoges, and there are FAKES! By keeping the departments separate there shouldn't be any question about what's what, right?! If you have any questions about the different types, feel free to inquire within.
