Mademoiselle Vase Heads with Nik Manojlovich

Cecelia brought this to my attention. She saw this show on HGTV on Wednesday 11/11/98 called "savoir faire". A frenchman was talking about his heads and showing how to display fresh flowers in them and use them around the house as table settings. I did some cutting and pasting from the link Cecelia pointed me to and here it is.............

Mademoiselle Vase Heads

"About 40 years ago a group of stylish women came onto the scene in a really big way! Chances are your mother or grandmother knew of them; they’re affectionately known as Mademoiselle or “vase” heads. Their simple ceramic form seemed to capture the essence of an era.

Creating arrangements for them is so simple. A small grouping of a single type of flower works best. The trick comes in choosing the right flowers. A lady sporting a green dress and peach lipstick would look smart in a hat of peach roses. A tight grouping of Hydrangeas sets off another outfit. Don’t think of it as cutting flowers, think of it as accessorizing an outfit."
