Shelley Cooper, Designer

Sweet RomanceTM Jewelry Collectibles

Shelley Cooper's love for antique jewelry began early in life. She was fascinated by her grandmother's costume jewelry which seemed to chronicle private and sentimental moments in the family history.

Shelley studied design, photography, art history and business. In 1980, she opened a design studio which developed into a jewelry manufacturing operation. Her work has drawn both commercial and celebrity commissions. Her designs and production methods yield pieces which rival the beauty and complexity of old originals. As a speaker, Shelley's insights are enhanced by her perspective as an artist, historian and manufacturer.

Sweet Romance is widely collected and has been featured on television shows (NBC's Passions), ValueVision in the USA and QVC in London. The line is offered through museum gift catalogs, castles, libraries, boutique retailers and by private contract. Parts of the collection are in the Edith Head wardrobe building at Paramount Studios.

Shelley's passion for the past is demonstrated by the 500 year range of historical styles in her collection. Through her work, she is constantly exploring how to bring alive that otherwise lost loveliness to those who yearn for such art and romance.
